10.08.2004 The largest glass-works in Russia will be built in Bashkiria
On Wednesday in Ufa the report about intentions between the government of Bashkiria and the company Anadolu Cam Sanayii A.S was signed according to which the Turkish company will construct a glass-works in Bashkiria. From the direction of Bashkiria the document was signed by the prime minister of the government of Bashkiria Rafael Baydavletov, from the direction of Turkey - the president of the company Anadolu Cam Sanayii A.S. Theoman Enigjun. Total volume of the investments in the project from the direction of Turkey is estimated at 50 million euro.
Ānādolu Cam Sanayii A.S. is a glass-making subdivision of Sisecam, the largest glass concern of Turkey. The company produces light-weight bottles for beer bottling. In Russia Sisecam has opened glass-works in Vologda and Vladimir regions.
The turkish companies Anadolu Group and Efes Beverage Group have got from the management of Bashkiria approval of the project of power increase of the Ufa brewery "Amstar" which last year has been bought by the Turkish group Efes, which is part of Anadolu Efes Biracilikve Malt Sanayii AS. On July, 9 the prime minister of the republic Rafael Baydavletov met with the heads of the turkish companies and promised to consider an opportunity of accordance of tax privileges in exchange for investment in the brewing branch of the republic about 75 million euro.
According to the experts of the company Anadolu Cam Sanayii A.S., the choice of a site in Bashkiria of one of the largest glass-works in Russia was promoted by presence the chemical enterprises in the republic which produce raw material and the components which are necessary for glass manufacturing. As it was informed in the press-service of the government of Bashkiria, about five industrial lines with total production volume about one billion bottles a year will be constructed. The experts of Anadolu Cam Sanayii A.S. consider that it is necessary exactly such quantity of glass package to satisfy the requirements of beer and soft drinks plants in Volga-Ural region for the years immediately ahead.

The general share of the company "Volga" exceeds 40 % of the Nizhniy Novgorod beer market.
